What’s the only thing that makes a luxurious automobile more luxurious?  More luxury of course!  But how do you make something like the Chicago Jaguar XJ even better?  Admittedly, it is a hard thing to do.  I mean, how do you make something perfect MORE perfect?  But that’s why Jaguar has a team of (what I imagine are) scientists working tirelessly on making it even better by finding the latest and greatest technology that you probably haven’t even heard of.  Now, I’ve made many visits to my Chicago Jaguar dealer and have to say that these cars are the cream of the crop.  But of course, I didn’t have to tell you that.  Jaguar has been at the top of the luxury ladder for as long as I can remember, and they are in no danger of falling.  But the Jaguar XJ really sets the bar high.

To start, the XJ will tout a massive 5-liter V-8 that hammers out an impressive 385 horsepower.  But, of course, for the real power enthusiast, a supercharged version will also be available clocking in at 470 horsepower and a Supersport version will push out a massive 510 horsepower.

But we already knew about the power, what about the luxury?  As promised this car over-delivers on every front.  Instead of the traditional analog instruments, the new Jaguar XJ gets a 12.3-inch high-resolution display with virtual speedometer and tachometer.  And if you like music, you’ll love the 1,200 watt (yes 1,200 watt) stereo system that includes a hub for two USB connections and Bluetooth-enabled audio streaming.  The interior of the vehicle totes a fabric so fine you may consider the cabin of the car as your new living room.

The outside of the car has noticeable differences too.  The new XJ has sides that come straight down instead of the wider body of previous Jaguar models like the Chicago Jaguar XF.  The extended glass top also has two sunroofs that open to the front and rear seats.

I’ll be sure to test drive the 2010 Jaguar XJ as soon as it hits Chicago Jaguar showrooms.  My only worry is never wanting to get out.
