The 2010 Chicago Jaguar XF is one amazing sedan.  Who doesn’t find the Jaguar brand intriguing?  They’re elegant, luxurious, and have amazing performance.  Let’s see what this current Jag brings to the table. One of the biggest highlights of the 2010 XF is the attractive styling.  While some sedans boast “run of the mill” exterior styling, the XF has a sleek, flowing body type. This sleekness gives it a sporty look.  It mimics the coupe styling sometimes found on those types of models.  The LED lights on the car’s rear are mounted higher than other Chicagoland used Jaguar models.  The front bumper of the 2010 XF has a look that sets it apart from other sedans in its class. The grille is smaller and is centered perfectly between the headlights that are shaped in a way that gives the car “attitude”.  Drive a 2010 XF and you’ll certainly get noticed on the roadways!

Moving to the inside of the 2010 Chicago Jaguar XF, you’ll continue to find quality leather that makes up the seating.  The leather is complemented by wood trimming and brushed steel trim.  In typical Jaguar form, you’ll get some drama when you press the start button.  By pressing it, the large gear shifter knob will rise out of the center console, beckoning you to start an exciting journey in your XF.  This feature can be argued by some in terms of its appeal, but I think it’s kind of cool.

The 2010 XF also comes with the choice of five engines.  One of these should definitely fit your driving needs.  You can opt for a 4.2 liter V-8, a 3.0-liter V-6, a 5.0-liter V-8 and a 5.0-liter supercharged V-8,  The top of the line supercharged engine will give you an amazing 510 horsepower and get you from zero to 60 in just under 5 seconds.  Opt for this engine and there’s no doubt you’re in for one exciting ride!  A base XF starts out around $57K and goes up from there.

In the world of Jaguar, it’s easy to get lost in the coupling of letters:  XF, XJ, and XK….So many choices and so many similarities and differences that makes each model perfect for the right owner.   One option that is an amazing choice for so many reasons is the 2010 Jaguar XFR.   Let’s find out why.

The XFR is a supercharged version of a XF Supercharged, so we’re talking the creme brulee in the lineup of XF models.  When you get behind the wheel of this car, you slip into a world that is unlike other used for sale Jaguar cars I have driven in the past.   First of all, the XFR has that “watch out for the quiet one” feel to it.  The car is tame and can take the route like any other in day to day driving to work, shopping, etc, but when you have a chance to get this bad boy going, watch out!

This Chicago X Type option has a V-8 engine this is simply fantastic.  It’s direct injected and supercharged, giving off 510 HP and 461 pound-feet of torque.  To add to that, the XFR set in sport mode will allow you to get all you can out of the horsepower by allowing the gear you have it set in to reach it’s maximum potential.  To tame your XFR down in heavier traffic, having it set in Drive mode is a better option: you’ll be able to downshift it without delay.  As we know too well, bumper to bumper traffic can instantly open up, then slow down again quickly, making your gear shift do a little more work than it might want to.  Luckily the XFR is a sedan that can handle the pressure!

In addition, a feature that I really like is the subtle sporty look the exterior has.  Compared to other used for sale Jaguar cars that have sometimes been criticized for looking too “aristocrat”, “conservative”, and “old-fashioned”, the 2010 XFR has a sleek, updated look to it.

I hope I’ve persuaded you to consider buying this exciting Chicago X type.  At least take a test drive, you won’t be disappointed!

It’s not hard to see that the design of this classic Jaguar model from the 1950′s looks a bit different than the Chicago XF of today. Keep in mind that every car gets their start somewhere.  Taking a look at older models brings a bit of nostalgia for those who remember that era and all that comes with it!

We’re taking a look at the 1955 Jaguar XK140 MC Royal.  Before it was transformed into a custom model, it participated in six racing events.  The person responsible for working on this classic beauty is Joe Wilhelm.  He chopped the top, made a hand designed grille, and added a windscreen that’s one-piece.  The front lights and bumpers also carry a design that make it look nostalgic.

Under the hood, the engine was rebuilt by an employee of Paxton who wanted to experiment with supercharging.  Hence, the Chicago Jaguar X type of today can be found in supercharged editions that really get your heart pumping!  The 1950′s edition has under 7,000 miles and comes in the beautiful purple hue seen in the photo.  I love it, but certainly a matter of opinion!

Another feature that I noticed when I clicked on an interior shot of the steering wheel and control panels was the material used.  Like the Chicago XF of today, the wheel is made of quality wood, as well as the dashboard and control panel.  Using high quality materials is an area Jaguar felt was important then and now!

Now, picture a 2010 Chicago Jaguar X Type with all of its technology, engine power, and beautifully crafted interior and you realize how far Jags have come over the past 55 years or so.  The 1955 XK 140 is a perfect fit for someone who’s into classic cars and can afford to buy a piece of history!

The diesel engine powered car is widely used in the European auto markets and in other parts of the world, but isn’t as welcomed here in the US.  I think we’re just so used to our gasoline engines, no matter how much we complain about the high cost of gas!

Jaguar is currently designing a Chicago XF that would have a 4 cylinder diesel engine.  It will be a 2.2 Liter engine that is inspired by the LR2.  It will need a little bit of tweaking to make it work in the XF lineup.  It will need a new starting and stopping system to keep the fuel economy lower, since Land Rovers aren’t exactly known to be fuel friendly”.

After doing some research on diesel powered XFs, I found information about the Jaguar diesel police cars doing duty in England.  The Central Motorway Police Group, based in the Midland region of England, has 7 high performance cars that are based on the Chicago Jaguar XF Diesel S Model.

The Diesel S model cop car features plenty of bright LED lights and electronic upgrades to help the law enforcement do their job well.  The cars are powered by a 3.0L Diesel S engine with 275 Horsepower.  The model is reported to go from 0 to 60 in about 6 seconds!  If the diesels are good enough for English police-men and -women, perhaps we should be more open to them here in the US??

Furthermore, the Jaguar 3.0 Diesel S, 2010 Model, went on sale in 2009 in the UK.  Some reviews rated it higher than the BMW 530d and Mercedes E-Class, which are both excellent diesel powered options.  The technology used in this particular Chicago Jaguar XF diesel model lowers CO2 emissions, results in less pumping, and less overall fuel consumption.  Several reviewers were happy with the way it drove and said the engine was powerful and provided a nice ride!

Most Jag lovers in the US covet their powerful, gasoline powered Chicago XF too much to think about a diesel option.  Perhaps that will change as newer technology can make the unthinkable a reality!

I enjoy the Jaguar line-up of cars, so I was ecstatic when I recently got the chance to test drive the 2010 Chicago XF.  Let me tell you, if you are a luxury car fan, this is one for you to consider, seriously!

On the open roads with less traffic, and on the more populated suburban thoroughfares, I found the Chicago Jaguar XF‘s handling to be very good.  It turned smoothly on some pronounced curves and the brakes performed well too.  Actually, when someone cut me off and turned pretty suddenly after that, the brakes saved me from an accident!  It was a scary moment, but all turned out well!

Turing to one of the car’s major highlights:  the engine!  Wow, this has a lot more power than a former large sedan I used to own.  The 2010 model comes with a 4.2-liter V8 engine.  If you want the Chicago XF premium , the engine on that one is an aspirated V8, which gets things going a bit faster and powerful sooner.  I did not drive the premium model, but the V8 on the base XF was awesome!  The six-speed automatic transmission is also a plus.

Jaguar is known for luxury, and the car’s interior keeps up with that tradition.  But, the interior is more high-tech and modern than previous models.  Some might say it’s a little “too much”, but I found it to be very exciting.  I opened the door, sat down, and when I closed the door, a strong “heartbeat” resounded throughout.  I pushed the start-stop button and that cool control knob rose out of the center console.  I felt like I was in a movie with all of these extra touches!

I found the Chicago Jaguar XF to have a comfy drivers seat and the stereo system rocked!!  I put in my favorite Stones CD and cranked up the volume.  The 14 speakers adequately pumped out my favorite hits while cruising some country roads.  The materials used to construct the dashboard and gauges are high quality, making the inside easy on the eyes.

The Chicago XF is certainly worth the money, if a luxury car is in your budget.  If not, a test drive is definitely an enjoyable way to spend an afternoon if you can carve out some “me time”!
