The 2009 Jaguar XF hit the market in March of last year, but I had not had the chance to sit in one until this week at Patrick Jaguar in Naperville. Even though the 2010 model is due out soon, I figured getting to know the 2009 would be a nice warm up for the new year’s offering.
Inside, modernly tasteful metallic and wood accents give the car a clean, refined feel. Jaguar has blended its traditional elegance with more contemporary style in the XF.

2009 Jaguar XF
The first thing I notice (and the first thing I always look for) is that this Jaguar has plenty of room in the front seat. Even as a tall guy, I had more than enough space. I also like the paddle shifters on the steering wheel, something I would demand if I were in the market for a luxury sedan. It adds just the right amount of tenacity, doesn’t it?
The XF really has been a break from traditional structure, a coupe-styled sedan that is very design-forward and more in line with today’s youthful, affluent car buyer. As a young consumer myself, I agree that the XF has appealed more to my tastes than other luxury sedans, especially with its more affordable pricing. I can’t believe I didn’t go to check it out before this week.
Jaguar has answered the call for a very stylish, reasonably priced sedan. And over at Patrick Jaguar in Chicago, for one more weekend you can take advantage of their February special, offering $10,000 off the MSRP—which is a really nice deal for anyone considering a luxury sedan.

2010 Jaguar XFR
So what can we expect from the 2010 XF? First, the XF will come with a 385-hp 5.0-liter V8 engine, which replaces a 300-hp 4.2-liter V8. Also, we’re looking at a wider range of models, most notably the XFR, which features a new 510-hp 5.0-liter supercharged V8. The 2010 XFR will be exciting for sure. I’ve included a photo of it here to show you how imposing its features are. This might be the sportiest, most striking sedan I’ve ever seen. And I’ve only seen the pictures.
Basically, the 2010 XF will build upon the wildly successful 2009 model, adding safety features and more luxury packages to choose from—and of course adding the XFR, which I can’t wait to test drive. I know I’d look great in that car.
